Hi everyone and welcome to this blog which for the next seven or more weeks will provide a running account of our travels in Ed & Rhoda Longenecker's Motor Home(MH) following them as the ride their tandem bike from Mobile, Alabama north through the US and concluding at Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada following Underground Railroad (UR)sites. Ed and Rhoda will aim to ride about fifty miles per day on this more than 2000 mile journey.
For the past several months the four of us have been reading a number of books about the UR. Miriam and I also attended a dramatization by the folks at the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lancaster, Pa which was quite helpful.
Does age matter? The bikers are 64 and 65 and we the drivers of the MH are 76 and soon to be 78 (4/19).
